Welcome to Mark Twain Primary School! I am truly honored to serve as your principal and to partner with you in supporting the success of every child. At Mark Twain, we believe that strong family and school partnerships are the foundation of a positive and thriving learning environment.
This year, our focus will continue to be on academic excellence, social-emotional growth through Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH), and building a safe, inclusive community where every student feels valued and supported. To guide our work together, our school-wide theme is “Every student thrives, and impossible is just an opinion.”
We chose this theme because we believe that every child deserves the opportunity, encouragement, and support to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. “Every student thrives” reflects our commitment to ensuring that no student is left behind and that each child is equipped with the tools they need to succeed. “Impossible is just an opinion” reminds us—and our students—that challenges are opportunities, and with perseverance, creativity, and teamwork, we can overcome barriers and achieve what once seemed out of reach.
We encourage you to stay actively involved—whether by attending school events, volunteering, or simply engaging in conversations with your child about their daily experiences. Please know that my door is always open to you. Together, we will ensure that our students are inspired, challenged, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Vernita Sims, Principal
